What is the goal of this class?

Confident Canines is designed to help you and your dog feel more confident and in control during walks, even in the presence of triggers. Our program focuses on equipping you with a range of tools and techniques to manage your dog's over-reactive behavior effectively. By the end of the class, you'll have a better understanding of your dog's triggers and how to communicate with them to build trust and confidence. We want to empower you to advocate for your dog and help them navigate the world with less stress and anxiety.

What does this class cover?

In Confident Canines you will:

  • learn how to meet your dog’s needs so they are calmer companions

  • learn how to read your dog’s body language so you can notice & listen to what they are telling you

  • get to try using a longer leash & practice this skill often

  • learn management techniques for navigating those challenging moments

  • get to practice mini “walks” with a trainer helping guide your decisions

  • learn foundations for behaviors like offering you attention, loose leash walking, greeting people, & settling in new places - all via many fun games and cues!

Who is this class for?

Confident Canines is suitable for dogs of any age or skill level. Whether your dog is already exhibiting over-reactive behaviors or you're hoping to prevent them from developing, our program is designed to help you navigate and manage your dog's triggers with greater confidence. While all dogs would benefit from this class, dogs with a bite history should book a private training session to ensure their safety and the safety of other class participants.

What are the logistics of this class?

Confident Canines is a 5-week course consisting of hour-long classes held once a week. Our program includes follow-up emails after each class, listing resources that we discussed that day.

To minimize distractions and stress during training, Confident Canines is held outdoors on our private land outside of Lake Crystal. In the event of extreme or inclement weather on a scheduled class day, we'll reschedule.

The maximum number of teams in this class is 6 dog/ human teams and the minimum is 3 dog/ human teams. If less than 3 teams enroll, you’ll be given the option of switching to a different class section or a refund.

Due to the nature of this class and the dogs participating, we kindly ask that these sessions remain child-free.

Your investment for the 5 week course is $225.

Dogs must be up to date on their core vaccinations by the start of the class.
